Public spaces of the city of Brno - theoretical work

Master´s thesis adresses the issue of public spaces of inner city of Brno. These spaces have good prerequisities to become attractive places for everyday use or for spending a good free time. These prerequsities include for example compact city structure, well defined public spaces, walking city distances, presence of public and commercial facilities and distinctive genius loci. But public spaces in these localities often do not fulfill their own potential and stay as average free space inbetween buildings. Thesis suggests a detailed system for categorisation of squares and streets in the inner city of Brno and examines the reasons for potential non-fulfillment on these typologies, it tries to find out the problems of public spaces and how they can be solved.

Classification of glacial lakes and methods of inventory

Classification of glacial lakes and methods of inventory Abstract: Classification of glacial lakes has its application all around the world. However, there is no unified system of typology that would make it possible to simplify and increase the effectivity of labour inventory. The thesis is dedicated to creation an overview of the definitions of glacial lake divided by euro-atlantic and asian literature and its resulting evaluation. The inventory of glacial lakes is closely connected to their classification. Therefore, the work subsequently presents individual methods that lead to the creation of a lake inventory. The basis of the creation of a design of the classification system is the research from already created glacial lakes classifications and analysis by which typology can be created. Overall, the classification of the lakes is divided into two main groups: by position to glacier or relief and according to the type of dam. Furthermore, 280 glacial lakes were analysed based on the inventory table in an interest area. On the basis of a created classification design, most of the lakes were classified under the inventory, thereby confirming its used application. Expulsion of the German Population from Poprad after year 1944

The goal of my bachelor thesis "Expulsion of German residents from Poprad after 1944 with the emphasis on exemptions from the expulsion of German residents" is is to provide a view of the circumstances of the displacement of the German population from Poprad and thus to understand the regional history of Poprad in Slovakia. The bachelor thesis is divided into four parts. In the first part I present the geographical and content definition of the theme, like the background in which the German residents lived until 1945. In the second part, I focus on securing the German population in the camps in Poprad, while the subchapter is devoted to the removal of Germans from Poprad itself. In the third part, with using archival documents and literature, I divide German residents into categories of who have been an exempt from expulsion for various reasons, and I describe these reasons. In the fourth part, following the third chapter, I create a typology and briefly summarize the research.

Typology of Visitors of Handball Club HC SPORTA Hlohovec

Topic: Typology of Visitors of Handball Club HC SPORTA Hlohovec. Object: The main aim of this thesis has been to design the typology of visitors of Handball Club HC SPORTA Hlohovec handball club. Methodology: The data have been collected by means of quantitative marketing research. The basic set was represented by 484 attendants at three different matches men's first league. In the synthetic part of thesis the typology has been devised via by methods of k-means. Results: The results of questionary research are presented through graphs in the analytical section. The synthetic section of the thesis is devoted to the description of the character of each of the four suggested segments. Key words: handball, sports viewer, typology, segmentation, k-means.
